On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the U.A.E. – European Lawyers’ Union expresses its support to all women and girls who are victim of violence.
The U.A.E. strongly condemns gender-based violence, gender discrimination and any kind of abuse perpetrated against women and girls.
The protection of fundamental rights is the basis of any democratic society and the protection of women’s rights, together with the elimination of all forms of discrimination, is part of the full realization of the rule of law.
Today the U.A.E.’s thoughts are in particular with women lawyers, in Europe and across the World, who fight for the protection of human rights every day, often at the expense of their life. The U.A.E. fully recognises their unique professional contributions and condemns any form of limitation and violence resulting from their professional activity.
